Sky Watch

The last couple days of sunshine have brought people out of the woodwork to soak up some Vitamin D and enjoy the outdoors. To celebrate the sunshine and cool off, I treated the kids to ice cream cones. While they enjoyed their treat, we looked for Mountain Goats above Juneau and watched the clouds. Ahhh

Juneau Alaska Photo

Juneau Alaska (pronounced June-oh) is a small community snug in the southeast panhandle of Alaska. Surrounded by sea, mountains, and ice fields, roughly 30,000 adventurous souls call it home. The City and Borough of Juneau is larger than the state of Rhode Island, and is the only landlocked state capital in the United States (Hawaii being waterlocked). This area was originally a favorite fishing area of the Tlingit people, while the city was founded around the discovery of gold in the 1880s. Today the top employers are government, tourism, and mining.
