In 1993, a "Raven" totem pole was erected on the campus of the
University of Alaska-Southeast (Juneau). In order to provide social and spiritual balance between the Eagle and Raven clans of the Tlingit and Haida cultures, an “All-Eagle” totem pole has been carved by TJ and Joe Young, of Hydaburg, Alaska. The forty-five feet, red cedar pole is from Prince of Wales Island and was donated by the
Sealaska Corporation. Its final length is thirty-six feet. A traditional ceremony will be held when the “All-Eagle” totem is raised this spring.
