Juneau Alaska (pronounced June-oh) is a small community snug in the southeast panhandle of Alaska. Surrounded by sea, mountains, and ice fields, roughly 30,000 adventurous souls call it home. The City and Borough of Juneau is larger than the state of Rhode Island, and is the only landlocked state capital in the United States (Hawaii being waterlocked). This area was originally a favorite fishing area of the Tlingit people, while the city was founded around the discovery of gold in the 1880s. Today the top employers are government, tourism, and mining.

What a cozy looking mall. Between the art show and window shopping, I bet I could spend hours there.
Great contrast with the previous photo!
It looks warm, I'll grant it that!
I'm a "culture vulture" so I always love those art exhibits! Thanks for following my blog! All the best from snowy, cloudy Minnesota
