At low tide it’s fascinating to explore the intertidal zone. When I came across these sea anemones, I felt like I had hit the mother lode. I’ve never seen such a variety of colors in this small of a tide pool.
Juneau Alaska (pronounced June-oh) is a small community snug in the southeast panhandle of Alaska. Surrounded by sea, mountains, and ice fields, roughly 30,000 adventurous souls call it home. The City and Borough of Juneau is larger than the state of Rhode Island, and is the only landlocked state capital in the United States (Hawaii being waterlocked). This area was originally a favorite fishing area of the Tlingit people, while the city was founded around the discovery of gold in the 1880s. Today the top employers are government, tourism, and mining.

This is cool! Ample opportunities to shoot the under-water world during the low tide... I'd not seen Sea Anemones before today :-)

I love poking around when the tide is out. But I haven't seen such colorful Anemones. Good for you. MB
