Your photos are amazing. Juneau seems like a beautiful place, maybe a bit of wilderness still remains. I just popped over from Cozy Little House where Brenda spotlighted you on her welcome wagon.
Hello, I just jumped over from Cozy Little House. Your photos are absolutely beautiful. I've been browsing some of your older posts and I just loved the photo of the eagles in the tree tops. I must confess that when I think of Alaska, I only think of snow. But now I see there is so much more. Thanks for sharing a wonderful part of the world with us.
Brenda from Cozy Little House sent me over to welcome you. I have never been to Alaska, so your photos of Juneau are just fascinating! You live in such a remote and beautiful paradise. I live in Idaho which is remote and beautiful too. Come visit me sometime!
Juneau Alaska (pronounced June-oh) is a small community snug in the southeast panhandle of Alaska. Surrounded by sea, mountains, and ice fields, roughly 30,000 adventurous souls call it home. The City and Borough of Juneau is larger than the state of Rhode Island, and is the only landlocked state capital in the United States (Hawaii being waterlocked). This area was originally a favorite fishing area of the Tlingit people, while the city was founded around the discovery of gold in the 1880s. Today the top employers are government, tourism, and mining.
